MOBAC Information Management
We manage information through social media, websites, and outreach. We listen to the community and we create displays, order materials, and create programs all based on information that people want and need. We find out information, not just for research but also to answer questions that people have in the community for services they need to connect to such as immigration, taxes, ans social security. We are the hub of information for the community and the connector to resources.
I asked reference staff at Santa Cruz Public for suggestions and Amy Chirman suggested Information Literacy Committee. I like the term "literacy"; we are striving to continuously improve our literacy skills and to help the public to improve information literacy-- in consumer areas such as Kris enumerates as well as news literacy, digital literacy, etc.
I have been giving this some considered thought. I reviewed the current committee charge and have come full circle in my reasoning. I think we should stay the Reference Committee....or to be more reflective of the broader scope of what we do (and in keeping of current MLIS course work at SJSU) I would suggest "Reference and Information Services Committee". Thanks!

This is a test, because Kris can't add comments and I'm trying to figure out why.
