Approval of Last Meeting's Minutes:  Approval of minutes from May 2017 and August 2017 meetings

Old Business: 

1) Fall Workshop: Reviewed tasks to be completed. Ellie will purchase refreshments and will let us know if she needs help. We all plan to arrive at 7:30 on the day for setup. Beata and Watonka will take the lead for signing people in. Frank will send out rsvp and survey. No video will be made (as per speaker's request). Stacy and Cynthia will get copies of agenda once provided by speaker. 

2) Committee charge: Discussed in context to our name. Concluded that Reference is what we do but that our committee members can include library staff beyond reference librarians. We decided to stick with our current committee name. Cynthia will share with Admin Council at next meeting. 

3) Meeting topics Spring 2018:

January: Feedback idea, comments on Fall workshop; opportunity to continue the conversation.

March: History project 

4) Annual Report to Admin Council: Cynthia attended meeting and shared with the council our upcoming workshop

5) Local History- We will begin looking at the topic of a document to use at our next Fall workshop (Local History Treasures?) at our March meeting. We will be meeting at Monterey Public. Cynthia will respond to Director Inga Waite's invitation to tour the CA History Room at MPL. 

New business:
 

1) Of Public Interest: MCFL has a telescope available for checkout for 3 weeks

2) Discover NPS Day will be Friday, December 1st

Administrative Council:

Request for fund will be requested in two different periods: first half of calendar year (request Dec/Jan) for May dispersal and second half of year (request June/July) for Dec dispersal. 

Tech Committee:

No rep for this committee but they are planning "Print, Play and Move: A Hands-On Tech Workshop" November 17th @ Marina Branch of MCFL.

ILL Committee

No rep

SPLAMBA:

Ellie reported that the committee is working with the topic of diversity in children's literature. They are creating a "Mirrors and windows" booklist for their spring workshop.
