 Reference Shares:

SCPL has been holding very popular one hour staff workshops called Tuesdays with Reference that any staff member can attend.  Subjects have included eBooks, children’s reference, the reference interview, finding people, and more.  Other libraries were very interested in this program.

Discussion about employees who complained they were working out of class, or that other staff members were working out of class- paraprofessional vs professional.  Possible solutions discussed.

MCFL did a WorldCat Discovery workshop for their staff.

Discussion about dealing with the lack of tax forms and instruction booklets.  Watsonville is printing up instruction booklets and providing them to patrons for $1.00 each.  MCFL printed them and put them in binders.  HML ordered one free copy of each from IRS.   Libraries referring patrons to IRS website, and to free tax help through United Way.

Inga, Be and Jean reported on PLP database offer.

News from Libraries:  Not recorded

Future Agenda items: MOBAC Services Survey- next steps

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 24th, at 2:00 pm at the Cesar Chavez branch of Salinas Public Library.
